Before beginning, what you have to know is that different types of media files go by different terms. When it comes to audio or video files, their quality can be a big factor that is affecting playback. Audio and video files go by- Presentation quality ( save your space but overall quality can be maintained), Internet quality ( The quality will resemble internet material), and Low quality (you can use this when your space is limited. This will reduce file sizes, so use it when you send presentations through email. When it comes to images, the higher resolution they have, the more demanding it is to load. Use alternatives like jpeg, png, tiff or gifs instead!

  1. Compress Audio/Video

Open your presentation slides and look for the audio and video files. You can compress them by locating the File menu tab. Choose Info, which will lead you to a series of options. Choose Media size, and look for Performance section. This will enable you to choose the option to Compress Media. You will then be asked to determine what quality you want to compress it into. Keep in mind that this will affect your file size. Choose depending on the kind of quality that you can best accommodate.

When it comes to compressing pictures, you can select the image that you want to compress and visit Picture Tools. Look for Format and choose the Adjust option. This will enable you to select Compress Pictures. If you only want to compress the specific image, choose Apply to Selected Picture Only. However, if you wish to automatically compress all images, you can choose Options and look for Compression options and choose Automatically perform basic compression.

Another way of reducing and compressing images would be to lower the image resolution of your pictures instead so that the file size drops without compromising the overall quality of your image. How you can do so is achieved by choosing the picture and locating the Picture tools. Use the Format tab and Adjust option like the step above. But this time, choose Compress pictures and choose Options before choosing the resolution under the Target output.

  1. Crop
