5 Effective Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation Tips
Your Microsoft Powerpoint presentation only goes so far, but a successful presentation does not simply end with good slides. Here are 5 effective PowerPoint presentation tips to try out for yourself:
1. Slide Master View
Modify your slides and layouts quickly with Slide master view, which affects every slide in your presentation. You can choose to modify slides individually but for effects that you want for every slide, this would be the ideal feature to use. Choose the ‘View’ tab and select ‘Slide Master’ command, this will pull your presentation slide into the slide master view. Finish making your changes and close it using the same tab. Simple, easily accomplished and useful!
2. Hyperlinks
Create easily navigable links to website resources or email addresses and more with the use of hyperlinks. Microsoft PowerPoint allows users to hyperlink text, the latest version even lets users hyperlink images as well! Right click to select either text or image and choose the ‘Hyperlink’ option or use the ‘Insert’ tab and choose ‘Hyperlink’ from there. For text, paste the address in the ‘Link to’ area and rename the fragment, click OK and the hyperlink will be successfully created. For email, paste the address by selecting the ‘Email address’ option.
3. Action buttons
Action buttons are useful if you want to link slides to other slides specifically. To insert it, choose the ‘Insert’ tab and select ‘Illustrations’, after that go to ‘Shapes’ to bring up a drop down menu. Choose the desired location to activate the Action settings window and choose the action option (what the user has to do to trigger the action). Once you have finished editing, try testing them out to ensure that they function well.
4. Rehearse
Practice and rehearse with your presentation slides so you know what speed is most comfortable for you and your slides when presenting. This could give you bonus points when done well. You can save the timing for your Microsoft PowerPoint presentation slides and animation so that PowerPoint plays them automatically for you. Go to the ‘Slide show’ tab and choose ‘Rehearse timing’ so that you can go to a full screen view of your Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. Record your presentation speed with the recording option and save the timing.
