What you are essentially doing by combining MailChimp with Shopify, is syncing existing customers and orders in your Shopify eCommerce store to your MailChimp so that the product orders are saved under subscriber profiles or campaign reports.
To connect your Shopify store, look for the MailChimp app and install it into the store. Select your profile name and locate the account option. You will then be able\ to select integrations and click on Shopify so as to expand options. You will then be prompted to input your Shopify store’s URL. Once you are done, locate the list option so that you can choose one of your lists or create a new one. You can then go ahead and begin the syncing process.
Once you have managed to successfully sync your MailChimp list with Shopify, you should be able to access the Ecommerce data for subscribers and campaigns. You will also be able to create target segments for subscribers based on different requirements.
To access your Shopify customers using MailChimp, simply locate the lists page of your MailChimp account and choose the list you want. Under the segments drop down, you can choose a new segment and set your drop down menus to sign up source, with the source being MailChimp for Shopify. Click on preview segment so that you can review and save it. Make sure to select auto update when you save.
