5 Things To Know About Powerpoint Transitions
Powerpoint transitions are some of the most useful features found in Microsoft Powerpoint even today- and for good reason too. Transitions can sometimes range between subtle, unique and flashy but the concept of application remains more or less the same. Here are 5 things you should know about powerpoint transitions:
1. Transition styles
Microsoft Powerpoint transitions can be categorised into 3 main styles- subtle, exciting and also dynamic. Subtle transitions are the first transitions that beginners learn to use. Basic, simple and efficient, subtle transitions are good for moving from slide to slide. Exciting transitions on the other hand are more flashy and complex than subtle ones. They are designed to be more visually appealing but applying too much can make them tedious. Dynamic content transitions however, are the type of transitions that move only placeholders and not the actual powerpoint slides.
2. Preview
You can choose to preview transitions as and whenever you want for your slides by either using the preview command that you can locate under the Transitions tab of your Microsoft Powerpoint software, or by choosing play animations. The Play animations option can be found in the slide navigation area.
3. Application
Choose the slide you wish to apply the transitions to and click on the transitions tab. This will allow you to find the relevant selections. Choose the drop down arrow so that you will have access to the list of available transitions you have. Click on the transition so that a preview of it is generated for you. You will be able to choose how you wish for the transitions to be applied, the type of transitions you want applied, and more!
4. Modify
Transitions can be modified to fit as well- you can choose to customise different options in the transitions by choosing Effect options. However, do note that the modifiable options differ based on what you have selected for the transitions. You should also take a look at the previews every time you modify a transition. You can also choose to tweak the duration of your transition as well- choose the duration under the timing group and key in the desired length of time you want the transition to last.
5. Remove
If you want to remove transitions from your powerpoint presentation, choose the relevant slide. Under the slide group, select none again and the transition will be removed. You can choose to remove from all your powerpoint slides as well by choosing the apply to all option that is available.
